DESCRIPTION:November 4-6 at an old traditional Goan house in the village of Aldona\n3 days of singing together and diving deep into the poetry of Kabir and other Bhakti/Sufi poets.\nLimited places available. Please contact Mahalaxmi for registrations (83088 44181).\nAbout the workshop\nThis workshop explores some of the core ideas in Kabir’s poetry through songs\, poetry and conversations\, including inviting participants to immerse in the folk form of Kabir through learning to sing a few songs.\nThe sessions will focus on key themes that appear in Kabir’s poetry\, such as love\, the importance of the body\, death\, impermanence and awareness. Songs and poems around these themes will be shared and participants will have an opportunity to immerse and exchange\, as well as learn a few folk songs of Kabir\, in order to sing together and experience the power of the song in the body\, collectively\, exploring the meanings of the song in multiple ways. No prior experience of singing or training in music is necessary.
